BRANDON WHITE

ABOUT

White’s paintings examine states of suspension—spaces where access, authority, and resolution remain uncertain. Rooms, doors, beds, hallways, and institutional interiors recur as frameworks of waiting, denial, and control, while figures appear withdrawn or absorbed into their surroundings.

Working in oil on linen, White builds surfaces through repetition, erosion, and removal, creating images that feel worn into place rather than fully resolved. His practice favors atmosphere and ambiguity, leaving what happened—and what comes next—deliberately unanswered.
